Frequently asked questions about Health & Safety

 Physical accessibility

The ground is uneven in places and often muddy in wet seasons, so we would not advise any wheelchair users to attend our workshops.

However, if you have the ability to walk fairly well and a   helper is with you, you may consider coming.

Chairs are always available for those people who want to sit.

 What your facilities like?

There is an ecoloo, with a fairly wide door. You will need to throw a spadeful of sawdust down the loo after your business.

There is a sink with running water and a covered bin in the ecoloo.

Sanitary products can go into the loo. Please be sure to cover them with sawdust.

Drinkable water is on site and we will show you where it is when you get here.

 Food or drink on site

If we give you food or drink of any kind, it will have been processed in line with current hygiene standards.

 First Aid

Both of us are trained in First Aid. We have a basic kit on site for minor injuries.

However, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions upon booking, you are responsible for your own health   and safety.

 Fire Safety

We always have an open fire during the workshops.

You are responsible for keeping yourself safe when around it.

 Personal safety

We both have a DBS, Liability Insurance, and up to date training in safeguarding.

If you are vulnerable in any way, please let us know privately and we will take account of your condition.

Will I have to tell my life story?

No, you do not have to share your life story. We suggest that you can share what you have experienced during the time of the Nature Workshop.

There is no obligation to share anything else about   yourself.

 Questions about Groupings

Is this workshop for women only

We run groups for men and for women. We only mix men and women if they know one another.

For example, a team of colleagues who come together for a team building activity.

 Frequently asked questions about Equipment

What do I need to bring?

We ask that you bring a fold up chair, pen/pencil and notebook/journal, a box or basket for collecting things with some good secateurs.

We will supply shelter, warmth, refreshments, items for   horticulture and crafts.

 What shall I wear?

It is advisable that you wear layers because you can then strip off if you are too warm.

Base layers in cooler month can include thermals, buffs and thick socks.

We also recommend some sturdy boots or summer walking shoes.

This is because there are random holes in the ground where moles or other small animals have dug their homes.
